Dermal Grafts

Graft: To transplant or implant tissue surgically into a body part to replace a damaged part or compensate for a defect. A dermal graft is when dermic graft skin from which epidermis and subcutaneous fat has been removed; used instead of fascia in various plastic procedures.

The Plastic Surgery Institute of California has centers and skillful cosmetic surgeons at Beverly Hills, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Pasadena and Los Angeles. They perform a range of cosmetic or plastic surgeries. Breast surgery, rhinoplasty, tummy tuck, nose surgery, and breast implant and augmentation. Rhinoplasty can be accompanied with surgeries like Rhytidectomy or face lift, cheek and chin augmentation, otoplasty, blepharoplasty and lip augmentation.

The Plastic Surgery Institute of California constantly seeks to try out innovative techniques which will benefit patients.Currently it has come up with the latest technique of dermal grafts, the innovation in lip enhancement. This revolution decreases the time taken for recovery after the plastic surgery. Dermal grafts are made of samples from the dermis layer of the human skin. Dermal grafts also mold with the patient’s own body tissue and a segment of your own skin is used as filler. Technically the graft surface is treated with a CO2 laser, removing the layer of cells that creates calluses.

A fat graft and a dermal graft are complementary and can be used simultaneously. Dermal grafts give a more localized correction, such as the border of the lip, depressed scars, or the deep hollow beneath the eyes, whereas fat grafting can be used over a larger area.

At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California we offer a relaxed environment and we are focused in our attention. We weigh all the options and come up with a strategic plan which fits you the best
